We had a great stay. It was even bigger than we thought it would be. It was a very peaceful area with gorgeous views.

On the positive side, the house is lovely and the furniture is very comfortable. It is private and views are stunning. The is lots of space, and they had games and toys available for entertainment. Internet

On the negative side, getting into and leaving the unit requires a trip to a Realty office about 10 minutes away. Why not add a smart lock or put the lockbox on the unit?

Kitchen had plenty of pots and glasses, but virtually no consumables (coffee, mustard, sugar).

When we arrived late at night, the house was locked up tight and stifling in the 90 degree heat. Didn't cool off until almost morning, making sleep difficult. It was fine on subsequent nights.

Baths were under-supplied in my opinion. Single ply toilet paper, no shampoo or conditioner, just papaya scented soap bars.

For $400/night I expected better service and supplies. We have 2 Airbnb units we host, and we certainly provide many of these amenities for our guests. May not be an issue for longer stays

Response From: Ponderosa Realty and Management , Inc.

I'm happy to hear that over all you were satisfied with the property.

We do not use smart locks because we try to meet people as they come or go from our properties. This has helped us solve many problems over the year just by asking in person "how did you stay go?" I get a LOT more feed back in person then I do over the internet and can solve a lot of problems before the next guests arrive this way. On a side note, the internet at this property is not reliable enough that I would want to have smart locks here. People would get locked out often.

Our rental policies do cover what is provided and what is not, including that we toss ALL condiments for health & safety reasons.

The pictures of this house doesn't do it justice. There is so much space! We saw mule deer every day in the yard. The hot tub was perfect after hiking in rmnp. The only thing I would mention is some of the blinds on the windows were broken so it got light quickly in the morning. Other than that it was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

The house was great for our kids to run around and play. It has a nice view of the mountains however there is another cabin just in front about 100 yards away. No big deal but noteworthy. The gas grill on-site was good and made for good cookouts. It was a little too dark at night for my kids to get to and from the bathroom at night so I suggest bringing some night lights.

This cabin, though dated and operated by a penny pinching property management team, is a great stay to be near Estes Park given that your expectations are adjusted before you arrive. Here’s what to know:

1.) Dated decor and carpet that is stained but clean. Cleaning staff did a great job for our group but this is not a modern place- expect 80s/90s decor and furnishings that are in modest condition. The living room gets very toasty during the day because of the big south facing windows, I would recommend keeping the shades closed during the day to keep things a *tiny* bit cooler.

2.) Do bring shampoo, conditioner, soap, extra TP, nice towels, and warm night clothes if these are things that you feel are essential to a nice stay. There is NO shampoo/conditioner and literally scant to no extra supplies like TP and trash bags provided. The rooms are very cold at night and only thin sheets and fuzzy blankets were provided (PM team does communicate this in their messages but can be easily overlooked)

3.) Hot tub is great, but most jets are not working.

4.) Kitchen is well stocked with almost everything you would need minus olive oil and specific spices. It seems that many guests have just left things over time so there is a random assortment of kitchen and cooking supplies.

5.) Location and star gazing a great!

I would stay at this place again knowing what I know now and hopeful that PM team would follow feedback that has been given from many many guests as can be seen in other reviews!

Last week, we spent 4 nights at 'Tyrolean - Great Views and Hot Tub - Wifi; a 4 bedroom house in Estes Park' managed by Ponderosa Realty.

I flew in from the south of France and had reserved the house for my partner and I, my oldest son/wife/daughter and my daughter and her boyfriend. Sadly american travel restrictions didn't permit my spouse to come due to COVID 19.

This review I hope will be a fair summary of commentary on the actual property - both the great positives and some of the points that were a bit of a let down. However, I do want to underline that I found the property management company - Ponderosa Realty led by Seth to be entirely responsive, reasonable and we amicably came to an agreement of what I perceived to be unrealistic nightly charges as compared to level of quality of the property. My comments on rental properties are based on my 7 years in the real estate market in the South of France and my adult children's regular use of AirBnB for their travels. We did not let the disappointments affect the fun and good times.

The positives (and they are quite a lot): quiet, proximity to town, West facing huge terrace on main floor, the views are splendid, especially the full view on Long's Peak, the space on both floors, a very well stocked kitchen for people who enjoy cooking. Upon arrival, we noticed that there was no pods for the dishwasher and they were provided the next morning. The layout of the space allowed each couple to have private space and the baby could sleep quietly in a separate room.

A quick summary of points of dissatisfaction (which are frequently also noted in other reviews): the overall property seems a bit tired, the sofas are outdated and very worn; the wall to wall carpeting needs replacing, the quality of linens and towels seem below the standard; there were a lack of outdoor chairs to eat at the terrace table; the gas grill was not cleaned; a lack of basic supplies in the kitchen (NO coffee).

The above comments are based on a rating that is 4,3/5 and the price. I would RENT again from Ponderosa and even rent this home again, but not at the overall price of 450€/night (all charges included). The property in my mind is right around a 3. But its very family friendly and you don't have to worry that the baby may drop food on carpet or the furniture.

We loved our time in RMNP and had a fabulous time and when I wrote my concerns to Ponderosa we had a quick resolution within 24 hours.

The location is very good and the view is great. The place is very roomy and well furnished. Some of the furniture is not in good shape. The carpet is quite dirty on the main level. The jets in the hot tub don’t work well. We ran out of propane for the gas grill and weren’t able to get a replacement. Suggest they have a spare on hand.

We had a wonderful stay! Cabin was spacious, quiet and we felt so secluded, but right down the road from Estes Park and close to RMNP. The hot tub was prefect and the views were gorgeous! It was exactly what wanted.
Little disappointed in the lack of towels and blankets. The towels were old and ratty and we barley had enough for our party of 8 (plus an infant) and when we wanted to use the hot tub. My husband, 2 little girls, my parents, brothers, and myself flew in from Ohio and Oregon for a wedding and a fun week in the mountains so, we didn’t have the space to bring extra towels or blankets.
Other than that it was a great place and we felt right at home!

Had a great group visit at this cabin. Check in was great and not too far away. The cabin itself was nice, a little dated, but was a great place to relax and spend time with friends/family. No AC but did not need it at all in May.

Our family was really excited to stay here but we found the property very disappointing. No AC. The house was dirty when we arrived with visible stains in the carpet. Couches and linens for the beds and the towels were all bare thread, musty, and old. When we called the number provided to ask questions, the woman who returned our call, Kris, was very rude. She told us our issue was “not an emergency” even though the number in the book at the house said to call for issues or questions. Then, when we called again to let them know there were mice in the house she was very condescending and unprofessional. Her manager Seth, called us back but not until the next morning. Seth was much more professional and solution oriented, which we appreciated but overall the condition of this property was terrible. For almost 400$ per night, we expected cleanliness at bare minimum. Would not recommend ponderosa to anyone.
