Come and enjoy the peace and quiet from this serene mountain cottage located just a 5-minute walk from downtown. Bear Pause is located near the end of a cul-de-sac and has views ranging from Longs Peak to the Stanley Hotel, Twin Owls, and the Mummy Range.
Upon entering this charming cottage, you will be greeted by the warm and inviting living room. The living room is large and has plenty of seating including 1 full-size sofa, 1 love seat, and 2 comfortable recliners. This space faces south to let in plenty of natural light. There is a flat-screen TV with cable TV service. The living room opens to the generous dining area that has seating for 6 guests. Be sure to check out the elk antler chandelier. The dining room opens to the large and functional kitchen. There are tons of counter space, lots of cabinets, and everything you need to cook a great meal.
The master bedroom is accessed through the living room and provides a private retreat with en suite 3/4 bath and queen-sized bed. The second bedroom is off the dining room and has a full-sized bed. The third bedroom features a twin over full bunk bed.
Bear Pause has three different outdoor spaces to enjoy. There is a comfortable large seating area in front of the house with views to Longs Peak and the Stanley Hotel. Perched above the large seating area is a comfortable wood bench with great views. Last, but not least, is the covered picnic area for shelter from the occasional afternoon shower.

Cancellation Policy
In the event that the Tenant cancels the reservation for any reason, a 5% cancellation fee will be charged. If the cancellation occurs less than sixty (60) days before Check-In Date, all monies paid by Tenant will be forfeited if the Rental Property is not re-rented by the Check-In Date. Ponderosa Realty will make all reasonable efforts to re-rent the Property by the Check-In Date.
Deposit Policy
50% payment is due at the time of booking, if booked 60 days or more from check-in date. 100% payment is required for reservations booked less than 60 days from the check-in date.
The balance of the total cost is due 60 days before check in occurs.
Rate varies due to seasonality and holidays. Please select your dates on our online booking calendar for an exact quote.

We had a great stay in Estes Park! The house was very clean and comfortable, perfect for our family of four. We were 4 miles from one entrance of Rocky Mountain NP which was our reason for visiting. We were walking distance to town where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. We had plenty of resources to cook at the house and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. We also enjoyed a couple of meals out as well. We absolutely loved the park and hope to come back and stay here again!
The house was exactly as described!
The location can't be beat. The cabin was immaculate. (It was the cleanest rental we've been in, and that's important to us.) We loved the kitchen, dining, and living room areas.
We were there over 3 weeks, and Ponderosa Realty was great to work with. We needed a few things, and they were delivered the next day.
The master bedroom bed had a depression on the side I slept on. Ponderosa was going to talk to the owner about it, but I told them not to make any changes while we there. I suspect the issue is taken care of.
The outdoor seating area is very, very nice. However, it is not connected to the barbecuing area. That area is outside the laundry room. The picnic table picture included with the cabin pictures is attached to the building below the cabin. If the weather were amenable to barbecuing, we wouldn't have because of the awkward logistics.

The house is clean and very convenient to downtown Estes Park and RMNP entrances. We saw elk and deer in the yard, and enjoyed the views.
The 2 guest bedrooms have sloped floors, making the beds a little unlevel. Not a big deal, but not great either.
Nice place overall. Small to very small bedrooms, and the main bath is tiny! The kitchen was very well equipped though, and the dining and living rooms were large enough for the 4 of us. It was great to wake up to the sight of 2 elks in our yard! The property is pretty centrally located, and has some obstructed views of mountains on every direction. No AC if you need that.
Bear Pause is a great place to stay if you want something quiet, yet still close to all the shops and restaurants. It was the perfect size for 3 adults to spread out and not get in each other’s way when getting ready for the day.

Amazing property. My family and I enjoyed a nice Spring Break vacation here. It snowed while we were there. The Ponderosa Realty was able to rent out the airbnb an extra day because we wanted to wait for the snow to melt. The kitchen had all we needed to make quick lunches and dinners. Great for a family stay. The 3 bedrooms are all cozy and decorated with comfy cabin theme. It is also within walking distance from town, but far enough away to not hear the noise. We will definitely bookmark this property to rent out another time!

Great location!! 5 min walk to downtown and only a short drive to RMNP. Everything you need to make a good meal in the kitchen. A bit tricky to fit 3 cars in the parking spot but possible.

Nice comfortable place for a large group
This is a fantastic location!!!! Just a five minute walk down to town. (Maybe a smidgen longer going back up the hill). Bear Pause is amazingly clean and well stocked with bedding & towels. The house is in a quiet area so little traffic. The host for the weekend took great care of us! Thank you, Ponderosa Reality. We would love to use it again!!!

We had a great time staying at Bear Pause. We loved the location of this house! It is less than a 10 minute drive to the entrance of RMNP and a 5 minute walk to town. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and the Stanley hotel. We even had a family of Elk walk through our yard. The house is spacious, clean and had everything we needed including cards and board games. The house does not have A/C but we did not need it even though we stayed in July. Ponderosa Realty was great to work with. From placing our reservation to check in and check out was simple. I loved that the front door had a code instead of keys. They had prompt communication and gave us a phone number to call if we had any emergencies. I would definitely rent again if we are back this way.

It is so close to town and Rocky Mountain National Park. We spotted deer and bunnies from the front yard. It was beyond beautiful and peaceful.
